[Cases of the Active Participation of Women]Construction Technology Development Department

Studying at the Sekisui House Women’s College has given me the chance to tackle some of the organization’s medium-to-long term issues, while keeping in mind the Sekisui House management policy. I’m currently working on devising tools and methods to reduce mistakes made at construction sites and make work proceed more efficiently, with the aim of eventually using them on site. I’ve also had the opportunity to attend various meetings and share my views and experiences of working at branches and on-site, as well as plan and participate in meet-and-greet events for networking with female supervisors and construction workers. There is so much I have learnt and experienced since I started working in this department, such as creating prototypes at factories, conducting experiments at the Comprehensive Housing R&D Institute, and working with the Senior Manager of Technology at the Sales Administration Headquarters and with head office staff. Even though I have no direct contact with customers in my area, I still feel an immense sense of purpose when I think about how my work affects on-site construction workers, branch staff, and eventually customers as well. I hope to continue acquiring experience in many areas and expand my personal network outside my own department. I want to keep doing what I can to make on-site workplaces better and more comfortable for both men and women.
