Shortening Working Hours and Improving Efficiency, With Creativity and Support From my Colleagues

I design rental housing as an Assistant Manager in the Planning & Design Section. The part of my job I struggle with the most is opening up a large map at the construction site, and explaining it to the customer. So I came up with some ways to overcome this, such as dividing the map up into smaller sections that I can easily hold, and explaining the design using pages with enlarged images of the important sections. When we need to check sections that are high up, one of my colleagues climbs up to these places instead and uses their smart phone camera to live stream the images, so I can check the situation and come up with a solution. I’ve had people say to me that my disability is just a hinderance to me, but the impaired functionality of my right arm is a huge handicap in doing my daily work. However, thanks to some creativity on my part and support from my colleagues, I’ve been able to shorten my working hours and work more efficiently. I can really feel how I’m supported by my superiors and colleagues during tough times, and it has given me confidence. I want to keep encouraging my team members to continue learning and growing through their work, and to take on various challenges together.
